Senior Risk Associate - Enterprise Consumer Payment Operations - Richmond, VA

Capital One's Enterprise Consumer Payment Operations (ECPO) Team is seeking an experienced, results-driven and influential Sr. Risk Associate to drive our Sustainably Well-Managed agenda and transform identified best practices into our Business-as-Usual (BAU). You will collaborate with our Risk and Compliance partners, ECPO Process Managers, and Sustainably Well-Managed Core Team to identify and remediate critical gaps across the following 10 key areas: Business Processes, Controls, Metrics, Monitoring & Reporting, Remediation, Automation, Full Coverage, Feedback, Management Routines and Culture & Mindset. As the Risk Champion for the ECPO team, you will assess risk exposure for all processes, ensuring effectiveness of controls to mitigate those risks, performing trend analysis of issues/events, and maintaining a state of audit-readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive ECPO's Sustainably Well-Managed agenda, influencing the team to incorporate critical process improvements
  • Engage with Process Managers within ECPO to understand the end-to-end payment experience
  • Drive business success and improve customer experience through evaluation and establishment of critical SOX controls, NACHA guidelines and adherence Regs AB, E and Z
  • Assist and lead process improvements, validating operational business controls, maintaining process documentation and issue management
  • Ensure risk-related process documentation is in place and up-to-date for all of our payment channels, including, but not limited to: process flows, FMEAs, and Business Continuity Plans
  • Proactively mitigate risk and quickly escalate and socialize issues with impacted partners
  • Work across Payment Operations teams and the Process Manager community to share best practices

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Risk Management, Process Management or Project Management
  • At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office or Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Process Management or Project Management
  • BPM, Lean Certification, PMP, Six Sigma or Agile certification
  • At least 2 years of experience with Confluence or Jira
  • At least 1 year of experience with PRIME system of record
  • At least 1 year of experience with banking industry regulations and requirements
