Senior Manager of Business Analysis, Card Marketing - SEM

As a Senior Manager, Business Analysis at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. The Search Engine Marketing (SEM) team is a collaborative, cross-functional, digital marketing team that produces powerful business results and garners insights fueling cross-channel online marketing strategy. We are seeking an intelligent and strategically-minded individual who is ready to develop, execute, analyze, and optimize value-creating marketing agendas to acquire as many new customers as possible through Google and Bing Search Engine Marketing Programs. The ideal candidate has experience working with or a passion for learning about digital marketing platforms and strategies and is an experienced people leader. A collaborative, team-focused spirit is a must.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One's Paid Search channel in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory behavior as well as massive technological advancement. Develop a cohesive, integrated, results-focused, and learning-forward agenda across multiple workstreams.
  • Business Ownership and Growth-Minded Results-Focus: Have an ownership mindset, and accountability for a subset of the channel's P&L impact. Oversee multiple projects and areas of focus concurrently and display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals within each one. Leverage relevant data and frameworks to make challenging prioritization trade-offs.
  • Leadership: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as partners across the enterprise. This individual will manage and develop a cross-functional team of 3-4 analysts. Expected to coach and mentor both direct-report and dotted-line associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One.
  • Credit risk and well-managed mindset: Create thoughtful, sustainable, risk-focused frameworks for testing, monitoring, and day-to-day channel management. Support process and credit governance improvements with a focus on balancing efficiency, sustainability, scaling, and appropriate management.
  • Familiarity with Data & Digital Marketing Tech: Be comfortable understanding, leveraging, connecting, and improving digital marketing platforms and the associated data infrastructure in collaboration with data architects, engineers, and scientists.
  • Partnership and teamwork: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One in all functions to ensure most cohesive solutions possible.
  • Analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Ability to synthesize and leverage both qualitative and quantitative data from both internal and external data sources.
  • Strong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills, and the ability to drive agreement across a diverse subset of stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
• At least 2 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
• At least 1 year of experience in people management
• At least 1 year of experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
• PMP, CFA, FRM, CPA
• 5+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
• 2+ years of experience in people management
• 2+ years of experience in product development
• 2+ years of experience in financial modeling and economic forecasting
• 2+ years of experience in project management
