Senior Associate, Legal Process Manager
Job Description for Posting:
The Litigation Group of the Legal Department is seeking a highly-motivated, tech-savvy process manager who will be responsible for managing the Litigation Hold Order (LHO) process and assisting with eDiscovery requests. This role requires rock-solid problem solving, strong communication skills, a love of process, and a high degree of comfort with change. This role performs a critical function in the Litigation workflow and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, adherence to a consistent process, and technical savvy. This Senior Litigation Specialist will be part of the team managing legal hold and electronic discovery for Capital One. The position will report to the Legal Manager for Capital One's Data Risk and Information Management Team.
Primary responsibilities in this role include:
- Managing all aspects of the LHO process
- Communicating and coordinating with custodians and stakeholders
- Working with Tech to ensure that systems are preserved as necessary
- Analysis and reporting of critical legal preservation data
- Process documentation management
- Training co-workers on use of LHO software, templates, and processes
- Serving as a subject matter expert for legal preservation
- Continuously improving the LHO process
- Collaborating with team and contributing on all team initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
- At least a High School Diploma, GED, equivalent certification, or Military experience
- At least 1 year of Project Management or Process Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Firm grasp of technology, including awareness of potential impact on business processes
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work with customers, create partnerships, and negotiate
- Ability to embrace change
- Experience in a role requiring the use of analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience managing and coordinating complex processes
- Experience with managing multiple dependencies across projects and processes
- Ability to deal with ambiguous situations, complex concepts and details
- Ability to identify risks and issues proactively, and drive creative solutions
- Experience with a legal or regulatory environment
- Coding or DBA experience
- "Power-user" level skill with spreadsheet programs
