Product Operations Associate, Capital One Labs
You’re an experienced Agilist or Agile Operations guru with a passion for building organizational capabilities, moving quickly, and working with emerging technologies and processes. You love isolating problems and working with a variety of people in different parts of an organization to solve them. You don’t mind getting your hands dirty. You have experience with design thinking, lean start-up, scrum, and other agile methodologies. You love the fast-paced environment of a start-up, but also enjoy working with larger organizations to scale products that have achieved product-market fit. You get bored when you work on the same thing day in and day out and want to change the banking industry for good.
The Strategy and Operations Team is a hub for all things Labs – we know what’s happening when, who is involved, and why. We look beyond today to bring new ideas, products, and processes to Capital One that will elevate our customers, each other, Labs, Capital One, and the entire financial industry. The Product Operations team is responsible for enabling the Labs to deliver concepts and products to market at warp speed. Some days, that may mean coaching our teams to utilize lean start-up best practices or helping to navigate the risk and regulatory frameworks, others, it might mean strategizing about tech deployments or coordinating resources. Along the way, you’ll translate the work you do into reusable building blocks that emphasize excellence, speed to market, and rapid testing and learning cycles.
Every day, you’ll come in and ask yourself, “What am I doing today that’s helping the Labs to work smarter and faster?”
Answering that question will require more than just being quick on your feet. It will also require knowing how to help Labs plug in with broader enterprise practices and approaches, and coordinating conversations across business and organizational lines. You’ll regularly interface with product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, senior leaders, and risk & regulatory groups to help monitor product progress and health, and drive towards outcomes.

Your background may include:
- Agile Software Delivery
- Operations Analysis & Management
- Product Management & Development
- Program Management
- Scrum Master / Delivery Management
- Knowledge Management
- Technical fluency
- Experience with a tech group or startup environment
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
- Previous experience in a role that required thought collaboration, influencing, and trust building among peers and employees
- Demonstrated passion for digital products/emerging technology and how they will impact the consumer experience
- Bachelor's degree or military experience
- 3 + years of experience with product, program, project, or operations analysis
- 3+ years management in an agile environment
- MBA or Master’s degree
