Product Manager - Sr. Associate, Sales and Marketing

Capital One's Sales and Marketing team is defining the roadmap for the Commercial Bank's sales enablement strategy, designing new products and services to enable Commercial's go-to-market strategy through data and technology.

The Product Owner for Sales Associate Reporting & Business Intelligence plays a critical role. This is a highly collaborative role in which the individual will build, from scratch, cutting edge data-driven tools and capabilities to enable our sales teams across the Commercial Bank. The individual will be responsible for developing a product strategy for banker reporting and BI that delivers portfolio and client insights, while better equipping our Sales Associates to meet sales objectives and deliver growth for the company. (S)he will provide direction to data and technical resources in development of this digital product(s), maintain a roadmap of future investment, and continuously evolve the BI product suite over time.

As a Digital Product Manager on the Commercial Bank's Sales and Marketing team, you will possess a combination of business, technical and human-centered design skills to be utilized in enabling Sales Associates to be more effective in a way that they truly embrace.

What will you do?
  • Understand and obsess over providing world-class data tools and capabilities to our Sales Associates
  • Lead customer research efforts to identify data product and reporting opportunities to enable our sales teams
  • Partner with sales associates and business representatives to translate product needs into the design and development of tools, techniques, metrics, and visualizations for sales and customer insights.
  • Work in a hands-on, collaborative environment with designers, data engineers, and analysts to build breakthrough data products that solve our users' most critical reporting needs.
  • Establish and participate in Design Thinking, Agile, and LEAN rituals which establish rhythm for the team, promote ongoing communication, and iterative refinement of roadmaps
  • Manage end-to-end product responsibility including; product road mapping, stakeholder management, domain knowledge of sales enablement, user research, AGILE development, user story creation, feature launch, and success metric analysis
  • Maintain data integrity across all Sales Associate information sources ensuring alignment of information with the Sales Associate reporting suite
  • Work with Sales Performance, Operations, and Communications/Learning functions to steward effective change management and training, over time.


Here's what you'll need to be successful:
  • A bias towards action and a demonstrated interest in developing and launching successful data-driven products
  • Project management experience in an Agile environment
  • Knowledge and technical ability with BI and reporting technologies
  • Understanding of database architecture and technology, including cloud-based platforms, as well as proficiency in SQL
  • Passion for emerging sales enablement technologies, including the application of AI, and how they are used to empower businesses to grow, market, and sell.
  • Grounding in human-centered design with a natural empathy for users
  • Ability to systematically use data to uncover opportunities, track product performance, and drive decision making
  • An elevated level of intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity
  • Exceptional communication skills- someone who is an engaging storyteller and is at ease presenting to executives.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in digital product management


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • 1+ years of experience in Agile product management
  • 1+ years of experience w/ Business Intelligence products and solutions
