Principal Associate, Cyber Communications

Capital One Cyber is rethinking the way the world approaches cyber security by experimenting and innovating in our safeguarding of 65 million customers. We are looking for an independent self-starter that can deliver high-quality products and provide communications support for our organization.

We are self-motivated, drawn to action, and inventive; and we're passionate about security. We get excited when building solutions that protect our associates and our customers. You will partner closely with the Cyber Chief of Staff and Leadership Team to develop and disseminate communications related to our overarching enterprise cyber strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience developing communications
  • At least 3 years of experience crafting communications in support of a technology leadership team through newsletters, or intranet, or social media, or messaging platforms
  • At least 1 year of experience with GSuite


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • 6+ year of experience developing communications
  • 2+ years of experience developing communications for an information security or cybersecurity enterprise
  • 3+ years of experience with GSuite


How you'll help us succeed:
  • Author cyber communications, drafting and editing corporate communications in a variety of voices
  • Ensure all communications adhere to brand, style guides, and core narratives
  • Create, maintain, and ensure consistency on a series of messaging themes across a diverse set of channels to promote strategy, business priorities, and cultural transformation
  • Develop and manage an inventory of content and a publication calendar in addition to content validation and ongoing maintenance
  • Deliver messages and presentations sent from the CISO's Office including community engagements, associate-facing communications, regulator interactions, and any ad-hoc communications requests
  • Experiment with new communication avenues to maximize impact and connection with associates
  • Develop measurement techniques to understand the success of your messages and identify insights to be applied to your next iteration
  • Evaluate proposed projects and programs for strategic and tactical communication needs
  • Use your relationships to promote early collaboration on initiatives that will affect associates, providing input to manage reputation risks, provide perspective on likely associate reactions, and create consistency
  • Partner with our corporate communications team for alignment on key messaging and strategy
