Principal Associate, Agile Process Consultant ~ Human Resources Business Risk Office (HR BRO)

The Human Resources Business Risk Office (HR BRO) is seeking anPrincipal Associate, Agile Process Consultant to organize the HR BRO's workflow and help to drive a culture of continuous improvement, as well also helping to manage the process in HR for implementing changes to applicable law through a series of regulatory change management processes. We are highly motivated risk and process management professionals with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. These skills allow us to gain insights, and act as a change agent to influence our business partners. As Capital One evolves to meet the ever-changing technology landscape, so does our risk associates. A successful Principal Associate, Agile Process Consultant will be familiar with Agile, Lean and other process management tools and will understand which tool best fits the team's needs. They are forward thinking, quick to adapt, technologically adept, are agile problem solvers, experience driven and are adaptive learners. This is a new role within the HR BRO organization, so an ability to work in white spaces and build processes is critical.

The Principal Associate, Agile Process Consultant will perform a key role in managing the workflow within the HR BRO and creating visibility to what and how the team is doing. They will implement and manage appropriate Agile ceremonies for the HR BRO and will help the team remove barriers and maximize delivery flow. In addition to serving as a process manager for the overall HR BRO, this role will own helping our Compliance Advisor manage the process for implementing new legal requirements throughout the HR organization (the Regulatory Change Process). The Principal Associate, Agile Process Consultant responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing appropriate Agile and Lean tools to help manage the workflow of the HR BRO

• Facilitating or helping other team members facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, etc.

• Support the team by maintaining data in the appropriate Agile toolset to provide transparency to the roadmap and related priorities

• Proactively help the team identify and resolve impedimentsin a timely, effective manner

• Facilitate retrospective meetings at the end of each sprint / project - ensure highest priority retrospective points are followed up on and closed out

• Utilizes team feedback and metrics (i.e. quality) to identify areas of opportunity and works with team to continuously improve

• Consulting with Compliance Advisor ("CA") to inform applicability determination for a new or updated law/regulation ("Reg Change")

• Performing impact assessments to determine what changes, if any, to relevant processes and controls are needed to comply with the Reg Change

• Monitoring the effectiveness and reports on the performance of the LOBs' processes within the Enterprise Regulatory Change Process

• Ensuring implementation status updates are periodically made in system of record ("PRIME") in accordance with established procedures, consults with Risk Manager and/or CA regarding control expectations, and escalates implementation concerns as appropriate

• As part of the Reg Change process, ensures Risk Managers perform risk-based validation of design and operating effectiveness for newly established or changed controls required to comply with the Reg change

• Providing support to both HR Business partners and BRO teammates

• Acting as an Issue Lead for Issues and Events where HR is the mandate owner

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience with process management

• At least 2 years of experience working in the Agile Team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

• At least 3 years of process management or at least 3 years' experience working in an Agile Team environment or a combination of both

• At least 3 years of experience with managing new regulatory changes or experience with the Compliance organization or a combination of both

• Certified Scrum Master or Certified Scrum Professional

• At least 3 years of problem-solving and conceptual skills

• At least 3 years of strong written and verbal communication skills

• Active in Agile communities (internal and external) to share best practices and lessons learned
