Manager, Strategy & Delivery Project Manager (Commercial Business Risk Office)

Commercial Operations (CML Ops) is one of the largest divisions in the Commercial Bank, this teams scope is horizontal across the bank and as such it supports numerous critical processes and transactions. By incubating innovative solutions and embracing technology, this team creates an unforgettable and unparalleled experience for our associates and clients. One of the most impactful groups in the CML Ops team is the Commercial Transformation Services team.

The Commercial Transformation Services is comprised of a team (CTS) of collaborative change advisors who work across the Commercial Bank, leveraging their significant expertise in analysis, process improvement, agile delivery, technology product management, and design thinking to translate business strategies into action. The CTS team is currently growing and searching for Manager, Strategy & Delivery Project Manager (Commercial Business Risk Office).

Job Description & Ideal Candidate:

This Manager will partner with the supported business leads to develop the roadmap and manage the portfolio of work for complex transformation initiatives. We help them translate their strategic priorities into transformation programs then lead the delivery of those programs, leveraging industry-leading project and change management practices. This role will engage our Commercial Business Risk Office partners to design and deliver outcomes that enhance the services provided, improve internal and external client experience, mitigate risk and ensure operational excellence. Specific focus for this role will be on all aspects of delivery to include idea analysis, feasibility, definition, planning, prioritization, implementation and close out of projects. Typical initiatives will focus on anti-money laundering (AML), Commercial's control environment, compliance & regulatory, reputational risk, and large horizontal / enterprise needs. This individual's responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Responsibilities:

  • Become a trusted change advisor to business partners and an expert in leading large-scale delivery in a highly agile environment
  • Partner with business leads to develop and oversee the delivery of high impact transformation initiatives or workstreams inclusive of definition, scoping, design, and delivery of outcomes and benefits
  • Distill big picture intent into to tactical requirements and implementation plans
  • Design and manage integrated and comprehensive plans to deliver strategy, assess and address issues and risks, facilitate decisions, identify interdependencies, and convey status
  • Consult with business partners to understand complex problems and focus on bringing issues to resolution, influencing and escalating as necessary to meet timelines. Includes clarifying and defining transformation requirements / scope for cross-functional problems.
  • Conduct independent research and analysis to solve ambiguous client problems. Work with transformation teams to develop recommendations to clients (e.g., senior management and/or executives) enabling them to make key business decisions.
  • Lead change implications for both associates and customers.
  • Create over-arching roadmaps, communication and change management plans.
  • Deliver independent projects and/or workstreams in larger programs concurrently in a highly autonomous environment
  • Bring together multiple lines of business (Card, Commercial, etc.), value streams, agile and non-agile teams to deliver objectives
  • Resolve ambiguities and negotiate tradeoffs across delivery teams
  • Identify and resolve gaps in processes and delivery
  • Ultimately responsible for timely completion of all deliverables
  • Build expertise in the delivery, agile, and risk management


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 6 years of people management experience
  • At least 2 years of experience leading workflow process transformation change using Agile concepts within an organization of at least $1 billion or more in revenue supporting at least 500 or more employees
  • At least 2 years of change management experience
  • At least 2 years of financial services or banking industry experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters / MBA degree
  • 8+ years of experience leading workflow process transformation change using Agile concepts within an organization of $1 billion or more in revenue supporting 500 or more employees.
  • Prior work experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, commercial banking and/or financial services risk management
  • Certifications in any of the following areas: Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
  • Experience with executive communications and presentations
