Manager - Project Management - Model Risk & CCAR

Capital One's Model Risk Office is currently seeking a Project Manager. This role will be responsible managing multiple projects and processes. The environment is fast-paced, with work that is critical to model risk management across Capital One. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of self-awareness and strong attention to detail.

This role requires the ability to develop and manage project plans, revising as needed to meet changing needs and requirements; leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent; identify resource needs; maintain key project and process documentation and manage risks / issues as appropriate; and effectively communicate to ensure delivery. The role also requires strong influence skills to effectively drive project/process efforts. This individual must have a proven track record dealing with business decisions involving regulatory and/or external constraints. In addition, very strong communication and partnership skills are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders to manage, inform and influence outcomes. In return, the role offers growth potential and the ability to learn about and influence the dynamic work of risk management.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable as the project manager for project/process completion, scope completion and realizing expected project/process results
  • Develop and track action plans on multiple projects and key processes
  • Execute process/controls and seek continuous improvement opportunities
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
  • Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project/process success
  • Work with cross-functional teams and influence others to work towards a common goal, regardless of resource and time constraints
  • Conduct status reporting on projects and processes as needed
  • Facilitate logistics around stakeholder interactions and planning sessions
  • Develop and keep track of project/process dashboards
  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

The person will:
  • Have a proven track record dealing with business decisions involving regulatory and/or external constraints
  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / process
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project/process management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.
  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes


Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience

• 5 years of experience in Project or Process Management

• 1 year experience working with regulatory or external entities to inform business decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA / Master's Degree

• PMP or masters certificate of project management (CPM)

• 7 years of experience in Project Management

• Risk or governance experience
