Manager, Enterprise Learning Experience Design

Within Capital One, the Enterprise Learning Experience Design team is bringing human-centered and instructional design practices to curricula and courses designed to help grow the careers of 50,000+ global Associates at Capital One.

Our team works collaboratively with senior business leaders and developers to research, design and develop enhanced learning experiences and courses. At Capital One you'll notice a unique culture of enthusiasm, collaboration, innovation and agile creation happening on a routine basis. As Enterprise Learning Experience Design Manager on the team, you will play a lead role in transforming our learning culture with blended learning strategies. You'll ensure digital and in-person learning experiences are designed with the end-learner and business objectives in mind while leveraging Capital One's brand and design standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Senior Management and Leadership team to conduct learner research and assess business needs to inform the Enterprise Learning strategy and pipeline of work
  • Include, empower and inspire a team of Learning Experience Designers with backgrounds in Instructional Design and eLearning Development to:
    • Identify adult learning models, methods and modalities that support a design strategy.
    • Create learner personas and journey maps to outline the broader scope of the end-to-end blended learning experiences.
    • Influence stakeholders to adopt alternative solutions where applicable.
    • Work collaboratively with other program managers, internal communications specialists, designers and developers to ensure learning touchpoints are cohesive across the end-to-end experience.
    • Design using the latest design software and tools for rapid development.
    • Conduct quick usability research sessions to evaluate prototypes with end learners.
    • Present usability research findings and recommendations to stakeholders to inform the next iteration of the design prior to launching.
    • Design highly polished blended learning touchpoints (digital, video, audio, classroom, virtual classroom, experiential, mobile, social, etc.) that adhere to our One Brand & Design guidelines.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience creating learning strategy or at least 5 years of experience creating learning curriculum
  • At least 5 years of experience designing learning experiences in digital and classroom settings


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Learning Design, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience creating a learning strategy and curriculum based on learner needs, business needs, and modern learning theories and models
  • At least 7 years of experience designing blended learning experiences and touch points in digital and classroom settings
  • At least 3 years of experience working with agile team of learning program managers, designers and developers
  • At least 1 year of experience working within Atlassian JIRA for project management
