Director of Program Review and Effective Challenge - ERM

We are looking to hire a new Director on to a fast-moving team working on an agenda that is a high priority for senior leadership within Risk! Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is seeking a Director to join our team to support the design and execution of a new Program Review process to evaluatehoweffectively are we managing risk within key risk programs, drive strategic visioning and facilitate continuous improvement.

Specifically, in this role you will be accountable for applying your risk management knowledge, strategic thinking, and analytical skills to identify opportunities to strengthen risk programs. This includes serving as a thought partner for ERM leadership, designing the process and artifacts necessary to create a sustainable program, and leading a team to identify opportunities to add value for senior leadership across Risk. This is a unique opportunity to get involved in standing up a new capability that is critical to the agenda of Risk leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive completion of the Program Review final design and execute a proof of concept
  • Operationalize and implement the program working across multiple dimensions of risk to develop a holistic picture of how risk management is conducted
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships with risk category and business partners, and consult with executives
  • Perform current and target state assessments to create recommendations that further leadership's risk management objectives and program maturity
  • Provide advisory insights to our 2nd line risk programs to proactively identify opportunities to strengthen oversight and control
  • Facilitate the development of future state roadmaps and strategic agendas for risk programs
  • Develop and deliver senior level risk management reporting and communications to measure and report the status of our risk management programs including:
    • Providing executives / risk leaders with visibility into the state of risk management
    • Providing visibility into the key enhancement opportunities
    • Identifying opportunities to drive efficiency, and increase utilization of automation and analytics
  • Work with risk categories, risk programs, and relevant ERM stakeholders to determine data input and collection mechanisms needed to support program review requirements
  • Develop and execute project plans and drive design and launch of the new program
  • Lead a team to implement dynamic process management


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 8 years of experience in Project or Process Management
  • At least 5 years of experience operating or implementing risk management processes or risk oversight
  • At least 3 years of experience within a financial services risk function or risk consultancy role
  • At least 3 years of management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • 10 years of overall experience within a financial service Risk function
  • Deep subject matter knowledge in one or more risk categories, e.g. credit, operational, market risk etc.
  • Experience in strategy development, leading strategic transformations, or strategy consulting
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and influence skills, particularly in delivering and credibly supporting results of program reviews, in interactions with the executive level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Data Analysis and Metrics
