Director - Enterprise Risk Management -

As a Director in Capital One's Enterprise and Operational Risk Management organization you will apply your leadership and analytical skills to our highest profile Risk Management projects. You will act as a thought leader working across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge Risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success. Directors in Capital One's Risk Management organization partner with Executives and lines of business to drive organizational change in order to better manage the Company's Risk in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is seeking a Director to lead two critical programs:

New Product, Marketing, and Initiative Governance (NPMIG):

NPMIG is Capital One's process for managing risk related to new customer-facing products and initiatives. The ERM Director:

-Develops NPMIG requirements and standards

-Evaluates the program against internal and external requirements

-Identifies and drives strategic opportunities to enhance the program

-Partners with business areas to ensure appropriate local execution of the program

-Leads the NPMIG process for Enterprise-level initiatives

-Manages audit and regulatory exams and requests

-Acts as business owner for the NPMIG system of record, 1NET

-Ensures Quality Assurance activities occur including the identification and remediation of key issues

-Monitors the performance of the overall program against quantitative and qualitative metrics

-Manages a team of 2 associates to execute the NPMIG agenda

Corporate Development:

ERM plays a critical role in Corporate Development activities executed for potential acquisitions and large partnerships. The ERM Director:

-Conducts analysis of the overall deal specifics

-Identifies key risks across multiple risk categories

-Flags critical risks to Risk Management Leadership

-Evaluates level of effort related to risk management integration

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree or military experience

-At least 8 years of experience in risk management, process management, or project management

-At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role

Preferred Qualifications:

-At least 3 years of experience in enterprise risk or operational risk at a large bank or financial services company

-Master's Degree

-Six Sigma, LEAN, or other process certification

-Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills

-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
