Commercial Credit Analyst, Centralized Spreading Associate

The Associate role is an entry-level role in the Centralized Spreading Unit (CSU) is primarily responsible for independently performing in-depth quality control analysis and critically evaluating data of
financial spreads completed by our offshore partners for errors and inconsistencies. This Associate will also be responsible for monitoring and managing the spreading workflow application, Spreading Connect and interacting with underwriters across the Commercial Line of Business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze quality of production through continuous sample-based quality control testing of adherence to spreading guidelines
  • Manage the spreading workflow tool by working to seamlessly resolve and respond to all issues and inquiries in a timely manner
  • Professionally manage and maintain relationships with underwriters, credit analysts and the Commercial Spreading Team
  • Responsible for clear, straightforward and timely responses to requests for additional supporting information, status updates and error remediation
  • Able to independently provide informed and grounded solutions to questions on topics related to spreading policy, and challenges or escalates where appropriate
  • Professionally support the team members and assist in various projects and ad-hoc requests
  • Identify and document weaknesses in the established centralized spreading process by offering unique perspectives and approaches to work
  • Anticipate changes in business needs and escalate findings to appropriate level for responsive remediation
  • Support various business initiatives related to process & system enhancements, automation


The ideal candidate will have:
  • Moody's Risk Analyst, Argus or comparable spreading software experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey complex results and concepts
  • Multi-tasking experience in a fast-paced environment while meeting production goals and requested deadlines
  • Problem solving skills while offering unique perspectives or solutions
  • Detail-orientedness to deliver timely, error-free work, with a high degree of independence
  • Teamwork experience supporting team goals through motivating others to consider unique perspectives and approaches to work


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • At least 1 year experience in financial statement analysis, lending analysis underwriting or loan review
  • Experience as a credit analyst, financial analyst or auditor
  • Financial accounting and/or auditing experience
  • Project / Process management experience
