Within Capital One US Card, the Partnerships Deal Evaluations team plays a key strategic role in the organization. This team has the responsibility of evaluating potential new Card co-brand or private label partnerships or the renewal of existing partner contracts. The team plays a very important role for the business, as the impact of new deals can provide significant growth to the US Card bottom line. Capital One currently has over 20 partners in their Card business, with plans to grow in the near future, making it a very exciting time to join the team.
We are looking for a creative problem solver to work as a Business Director in our corporate headquarters in McLean, VA or our office in Chicago, IL.
As a Business Director, you will lead evaluations of new deals, as well as help shape the strategic vision for which partnerships Capital One should pursue. In this role, you will regularly engage with the SVP+ population to help drive those strategies forward, with the recommendations often going all the way to the CEO.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Lead evaluations of potential deals with new partners
o Holistically assess the business opportunity
o Build models to forecast the financial returns of the partnership
o Assess the risks of the potential partnership
o Be able to work under tight timelines
- Be a knowledge leader and intellectually curious
o Use your creative problem-solving to craft strategies for which partners to pursue
o Analyze past deals to understand opportunities for better forecasting future opportunities
- Lead others effectively
o Collaborate across the enterprise, building relationships with key stakeholders throughout all of US Card
o Be seen as a people leader, investing and growing talent
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 8 years work experience in financial services, payments or fintech company
- At least 3 years leading a team
- Experience working with deals and card partnerships
