Role Summary

  • The Strategic Program Originations Team oversees front-end deal prospecting, structuring, and execution for Capital One's Corporate Bank Strategic Investments Group ("SIG").
  • This individual will help maintain strong relationships with Capital One's strategic investors partners within its unitranche platform and coordinate deal flow activities across the Healthcare and Commercial Real Estate platforms.
  • Along with senior members of the SIG Originations team, this individual will facilitate the Corporate Bank's interactions with strategic investor partners and track deal flow, including pipeline maintenance, deal screening, structuring, negotiating, and closing activities.
  • This individual will draw from prior experiences in relationship and portfolio management within the real estate commercial banking and direct lending sectors

Core Responsibilities
  • Coordinate deal closing activities amongst Capital One, strategic partners, and third-party administrators
  • Manage internal/external pipelines
  • Organize deal materials and diligence sessions amongst deal teams
  • Serve as a point person for deal and portfolio updates amongst internal stakeholders and investor partners
  • Run scenario analyses, coordinate returns models, and compare structures across multiple strategic partners
  • Coordinate closing and funding logistics
  • Attend portfolio review sessions and analyze Corporate Bank portfolio reporting for opportunities to utilize strategic partners
  • Prepare reporting and manage communications amongst various Capital One functional groups - including finance, legal, and audit teams.
  • Assist the SIG Development Team in rolling out new strategic investor programs across the Corporate Bank, including internal marketing and training efforts

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in commercial banking or at least 2 years' experience in commercial real estate or at least 2 years' experience in capital markets
  • At least 1 year of experience in the real estate sector

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years' transaction-level experience in the real estate sector, including cash flow modeling and financial forecasting
  • Understanding of the commercial and real estate debt capital markets
  • Experience navigating across an organization and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Project management experience
