Senior Tax Analyst

Position Overview:

As a result of exciting growth, we are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our Tax team. This position reports to the Tax Manager and is located in our Toronto corporate office. As a senior tax analyst, you will be accountable for the preparation of quarterly and annual tax reporting for Canada and its international subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will also prepare tax installments, ensure compliance with the commodity tax filings (Canada and US), and assist with income tax and commodity tax audits as required. This can be a perfect opportunity to work in a growing corporate tax department, with a view to gaining exposure to global corporate taxes and transfer pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare information requirements and assist with delivery of corporate income tax returns
  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax accounting provision schedules and book to provision adjustments
  • Prepare and review various tax returns including income & commodity tax (Canada, US & International)
  • Assist with the self-assessment process of sales tax (use tax)
  • Actively assist with income tax audits (federal/state/provincial/local), transfer pricing, commodity tax where needed
  • In depth research of tax issues
  • Interact with tax authorities regarding tax notices (including written correspondences)
  • Various ad hoc projects

Experience, Education and Designations:

  • CPA, CA, CGA, CMA with 2-5 years of post-designated tax experience in a medium to large company
  • University degree majoring in accounting
  • Accounting knowledge of IFRS

  • Accounting knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong problem solving skills and business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills and pays close attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks at a given time and work in a fast paced deadline oriented environment
  • Strong proficiency in excel
  • Tax prep software
