Software Engineering Lead - B2B

Job Summary:

As the Software Engineering Lead (B2B) you will be part of a team of Engineers that work on bringing our capabilities to more customers around the world – you put our Customers first! You will work on design for scale, architecting improvements and introduce new functionality of Amazon Web Services (AWS).  


Outcome / Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team and cross functional partners to solve business requests with solid and realistic project scopes and timelines
  • Architect and implement solutions that cross both our website and marketplace applications
  • Aid in the implementation of API’s which will power our AWS based applications
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, while interfacing with internal stakeholders and technology teams
  • Strong communicator – you have the ability to fully explain technical problems, make recommendations and find solutions
  • Ability to open a Visual Studio project in C#, find faults, concerns and make recommendations
  • Ability to share knowledge and help mentor junior engineers

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong technical background – Preferably in the Microsoft technology stack (.NET) and experience with C#, AWS, WCF, MySQL, MVC, Github, RabbitMQ. Bonus, if you have experience in Web API and Angular 2
  • Previous experience with eCommerce applications and support services, including Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly digest and work within exisiting codebase
  • Strong data modeling and data management skills
  • Fluency in SQL and deep understanding of costs related to data fetching (from db, from disk, from memory)
  • Experience leading team projects; oversee project work of Developers and offer guidance and support
  • Have a passion for emerging technology and eCommerce
  • Possess a strong understanding and proficiency of HTTP, HTML and CSS
  • Experience with a service and message based architecture
  • Familiar with a continuous integration environment
  • Experience in an automated testing environment
  • Ability to foresee problems and offer suggestions, related to technical design and implementation


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred, or 6 years of experience in software development
  • 7+ years as a .NET Engineer in a corporate environment utilizing an OO language


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment:
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
