Job Description:
This role will support the Corporate Accounting Department which is responsible for accounting for Company Benefits, Risk Management, Legal and Debt

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Play an active role in the departmental month-end close process
• Assist with the preparation of monthly journal entries for routine activity related to Benefits, Risk Management, Legal and Debt
• Assist in the preparation of balance sheet general ledger reconciliations.
• Develop strong but independent business relationships with relevant departments. 
• Assist with the execution of process efficiencies to continuously improve quality and shorten the time required to execute the Department's objectives. 
• Assist with the preparation of certain information requested by internal and external auditors and internal customers. 
• Assist with technical accounting research and analysis of GAAP to determine impact on financial reporting
• Perform ad hoc projects as requested. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 1 - 2 years accounting work experience, public experience a plus
• Working knowledge of US GAAP 
• Detail oriented, self-motivated team player
• Strong verbal and written communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to function and adapt to change within a fast-paced environment
• Excellent MS Office experience including Excel and Word
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently as well as in a team environment
