Overview: We're looking for a budding volunteer filmmaker to capture the vibrant energy of our Team Bright Pink runners. Are you passionate about using your creativity to support a local non-profit? Do you want to meet motivated athletes from Chicago's running community and document the inspiring reasons they're dedicating their run to supporting breast and ovarian health? Are you a morning person? Add to your portfolio while doing some good!

The footage you capture and edit will tell the story of how 150+ runners are impacting thousands of women throughout the United States through fundraising that fuels Bright Pink's breast and ovarian health programs.

We're looking for a volunteer who is excited about attending events throughout our running season to craft powerful videos like these: Back on My Feet & Immerman Angels Brunch Run 5K & Walk

Ideal Filmmaker:

  • Critical thinker who is able to both plan ahead and make sound judgments in the moment
  • Natural storyteller comfortable interviewing people to pull out their most compelling qualities for film
  • Finds people management easy and enjoyable
  • Able to adapt to changes
  • Passionate about Bright Pink's mission
  • Some familiarity with running community
  • Self-motivated to propose new concepts and present project variations
  • Understands elements of a successful video and can create video for different channels and formats including social media, blogs, email, in-person events and long form storytelling hosted on YouTube and Vimeo
  • Commits to attend a majority of outlined events and regular check-ins with the Bright Pink marketing team, including select meetings on-site at the Bright Pink office

Requirements:

  • "Pro-sumer" Video Equipment
  • Editing skills in Adobe Final Cut Pro or comparable editing suite
  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate project progress

  • One team track workout with multiple Thursday date options of your choosing

  • Chicago Half Marathon team tent and race
  • In-office meeting date TBD to review footage and assignment progress
  • Saturday, October 7tth time blocks range within 9 A.M. – 8 P.M.*
  • Chicago Marathon Abbott Health and Fitness Expo at McCormick Place (can select 2 hour time window within this range)
  • Team Bright Pink Pasta Party Celebration at FFC South Loop (evening time TBD)
  • Sunday, October 8th all day*
  • Team Bright Pink Pre-Race Meet Up, 5:30 a.m. at FFC South Loop
  • Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2017 – Cheering station and Finish "line"
  • Team Bright Pink Post-Race Celebration at FFC South Loop 12:00 P.M – 4:00 P.M.
  • In-office meeting date TBD to review footage and assignment progress*

Bright Pink is a national non-profit focused on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. Our innovative education and support programs educate, equip, and empower young women to be proactive with their breast and ovarian health.
