Our opening in Core Engineering offers engineers an opportunity to work in an innovative, collaborative, and technically challenging work environment. Core Engineering, a tire development department of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO), has an opening for an engineer responsible for the development of new commercial tires. Qualified candidates should possess experience in one or more of product development, the application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and/or automotive industry experience. The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with seven+ years of relevant work experience.
· Effectively and efficiently execute a plan to design new tires to meet program performance and timing requirements
· Effectively manage the program's technical risk
· Prepares and presents designs at milestones like initial and final design reviews
· Determine root cause of technical challenges
· Communicate and collaborate in a team environment
· Develop mastery in design and analysis tools including tire dissection
· Communicates technical information effectively to colleagues, customers, etc.
· Up to 40% travel to tire plants, testing facilities, etc.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 7 years of experience.
Preferred: Mechanical Engineer with commercial tire design experience.
