Alignment & Tire Technician

Performs general service work specific to alignment, brake, and front end. Advises sales representatives concerning possible issues and makes recommendations.
CUSTOMER SERVICE (90%)
Performs general service work, changing tires and tubes, making alignments, making tire/tube repairs, installing auto supplies and parts, brakes, shocks, muffler and exhaust system, etc.
Tests, removes, charges, fills, and installs batteries, cleans terminals, replaces battery cables, etc.
Keep batteries in stock properly charged, clean and ready for sale, testing before, installation.
Removes wheels on trucks in for service work. Checks all vehicles for needed additional services. Advises sales representations concerning problems and makes appropriate recommendations for solving difficulties.
Any other duties as assigned.
MISCELLANEOUS FUNCTIONS (10%)
Performs miscellaneous tasks in store as directed by store manager/service manager.
Environment is very hot during summer months and cold during winter months.
Exposure to various chemicals used in cleaning, lubrication, etc.
Frequent bending, twisting and lifting over 50 pounds on a regular basis.
100+ pounds of pressure when pushing tires.
Repetitive and sustained exertions, forceful exertions, awkward postures, mechanical stress concentrations, vibrations.

Types of repairs necessary.
Material to best complete the service work requested.
Determine if replacement or repair is necessary.
