Technical Marketing Manager, Engineering

Box is growing, solving bigger problems and at a faster pace every year. Our Engineering team drives the company's growth. We're seeking an innovative Tech Marketing Manager to join our Engineering team who can deliver world class marketing initiatives. We're on a mission to develop, drive, and execute a tech brand strategy that will make our Engineering team stand out in the Valley by showcasing our unique culture and technical accomplishments. This could look like identifying and driving development of content for external consumption like social media or conferences; and planning and executing internal and external events, like tech talks.

We have an amazing team, but we're missing a critical element: Someone to own and drive tech brand from strategy development to implementation. We need somebody who's able to understand technical information and translate it into something creative and fun. They should also be scrappy and independent--able to get work done in a fast-changing environment. At the same time, they would be collaborative and able to work productively with all different types of work styles. In our ideal world they should be able to quickly get up to speed and develop a great sense of the Box technical brand and culture.

Why you need Box
This is your chance to single-handedly build the tech brand of a company at Box's scope and impact, while learning critical skills on the job by interacting with all facets of the business and at all levels, including the executive level, and driving a program from creation to execution. You'll source technical stories and drive development of content for external consumption. You'll partner cross-functionally with our Engineering, Platform, Marketing, Design and leadership teams to project-manage and build internal and external event programs (conferences, tech talks, open houses, Open Source events, meet-ups, Hackathons, engagement & celebration events, etc). You'll consistently assesses opportunities for improvement and innovation. You'll act as a resource to internal groups such as Women in Tech to 10x their events and programs.
Who you are
You've done this or something similar before. You have passion for technology and building unique programs and events for a technical and developer audience. You have an excellent eye for detail and strong written and verbal communication skills, knowing how to translate technical information into stories that resonate with diverse audiences. You're able to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines. You have strong project management and decision making skills. You're able to work collaboratively and multi-task. Lastly, you have awesome people skills and a proven record of building successful relationships.
