Technical Consultant

The Technical Consultant role is a mid to senior level position.  We are looking for an individual with an advanced technical and consultative skill set who has demonstrated the ability to consistently deliver amazing experiences to their customers.  You bring something new to the table, you have a passion for technology and want to use that passion to help customers solve their technical implementation needs.  You have already worked as a technical consultant (or other similar role), you thrive on building client relationships, and you love to mentor others to help them realize their potential. This is not a sales or technical support role - the Technical Consultant is the technical "Trusted Advisor" to some of the largest and most innovative companies in the world.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Advising on integration implementations, including; Salesforce, NetSuite, Jive, Google Apps and others, as well as custom client applications
  • Consulting on how to best leverage the Box APIs and serve as a technical liaison for the Platform team
  • Assisting the Pre-Sales teams when your unique technical capabilities will increase the chances of closing a deal
  • Funneling customers' needs into the product teams for continuous product improvement
  • Increasing Box Consulting's technical prowess by consistently improving your own skills and applying them to address our customers' needs 
  • Mentoring and advising junior technical consultants
  • Identifying improvement areas and driving work streams on how Box Consulting delivers to our customers 
  • Supporting the building of a "Best-in-Class" consulting organization, including the ownership of internal projects

 

Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years technical experience
  • 2+ years of client-facing experience, preferably in a consultative role
  • Experience with at least one of the following: Java, PHP, C, C++, C#, Ruby or Python
  • An understanding of RESTful API design concepts and the JSON format
  • Familiarity with mobile platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows Mobile
  • Familiarity with SaaS and Cloud technologies

 

Nice-to-have's:

  • 5+ years technical experience
  • 3+ years consulting experience
  • Third party web API experience
  • 1+ years of Enterprise Content Management experience, including; Sharepoint, Documentum, or similar
  • iOS or Android development experience
  • Information Security experience
  • Familiarity with OAuth, SAML, OpenID, Active Directory and Single Sign-on standards
  • Familiarity with Identity Management solutions such as Ping Federate, Okta, OneLogin or similar
  • Familiarity with Mobile Device Management solutions such as MobileIron, Airwatch or similar
  • Familiarity with networking and infrastructure
