Technical Accounting Manager
We’re looking for a high energy, hands-on individual with the people skills to work with leaders across the organization and be part of a high performing team. This role will be in charge of and own aspects of technical accounting support to various business leaders across the company, review and advise on contract negotiations, as well as review account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process and support the SP&A team in forecasts of several key metrics. This role will report into our Senior Director of Technical Accounting. A successful candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment, be able to manage multiple stakeholders and groups simultaneously and have strong communications skills.

Our Technical Accounting team is regularly working on the accounting considerations associated with strategic initiatives and is also involved in the operational complexities which come with being a growing global company. Accordingly, our experienced team is looking for someone who will be a trusted accounting resource for cross-functional teams and is passionate about solving complex problems as Box continues to scale. This team member will also be tasked with distilling complicated accounting issues into easy to understand terms for various stakeholders across Box and completing the technical documentation of these issues.

Who you are
You are a team player with an accounting background and have had experience researching and concluding on complicated accounting matters. You’ve spent time at a Big 4 or consulting firm and are self-motivated, self-managed and able to think independently, creatively and opportunistically. You are inspired by the idea of working with others to have a lasting impact on an organization and are looking to take on challenging problems with impeccable integrity.
Here's the fine print:
- You have already spent at least four years doing technical accounting related work with some familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements
- You have strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with leases, deferred commissions, stock-based compensation and/or corporate income taxes is a plus
- Having a CPA, experience in the SaaS industry, experience with NetSuite and/or experience in a National practice at a Big 4 firm is a plus
