Sr. Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise Platform

Our team is responsible for building all the features that are making this transformation real for enterprises. We give our customers insights on how their teams use Box and how they collaborate by providing extended reporting capabilities. We allow them to secure their content and restrict specific operations based on customer defined policy so that confidential information can easily stay confidential in a trackable way. To make our customers more productive with their content we are also building automations and workflow capabilities, enabling effective collaborations. And much more.
The Box Enterprise Platform offers a broad spectrum of technical challenges because of the scale we deal with in users, size of companies and the wide variety of use cases we are dealing with. We are looking for people to join our full stack team and work with engineering and product leadership in defining the future of our platform and its architecture.
As a leader on our team, you will work across organizational and team boundaries to drive decisions that align with the future architecture, product and business goals. You will lead significant technology initiatives from end to end and across multiple layers of architecture. We'll look for you to provide perspective on leading industry trends, recommendations on new and emerging technologies, thought leadership on code quality, and engineering process improvements. You will collaborate with others senior members of our staff to define our technical strategy. 
  • 10+ years of experience as a software engineer. 
  • Experience with or knowledge of large scale, high volume systems.
  • Experience building scalable, highly-available service oriented architectures.
  • Fluency in any modern object oriented programming language like Java, PHP, Python, Scala, etc.
  • Knowledge in workflow, reporting, large scale processing, web architecture desired.
  • Academic background in computer science or a related field.
  • You’ve played with the Box APIs or you’ve developed your own APIs.
