Box is seeking a talented and passionate Mac developer to help deliver solutions that will reach millions of users and help continue Box's leadership as the web's secure content management and collaboration platform. You'll be working closely with a small group of engineers who strive to build the most comprehensive, cross-platform, enterprise-class solution to stream, sync, and share content. You'll be designing and implementing features to solve challenges around user experience, security, networking, algorithms, and cross-platform portability. Everyday you'll work with our dedicated Product Management, Quality Engineering, and Build & Release teams; or, one of our peer engineering teams to imagine and build future desktop experiences for our Mac users.

The Desktop team is responsible for Box's next generation desktop client application, Box Drive, for Mac and Windows (read about Box Drive here) We are looking for a passionate macOS developer who can help us deliver more of Box's cloud functionality to the desktop and who is committed to continuously improving our overall user experience and technical architecture. We want to bring in a developer who is excited to solve complex problems in sophisticated, modern desktop applications and who has a demonstrated ability to GSD (Get "Stuff" Done).

You'll be exposed to and will contribute heavily to the design, planning, implementation, and execution on the development and full stack of the Mac version of our Box Drive application. Expect to partner with other Box engineering teams and have exposure and influence on a broad set of topics - from the public Box APIs to Realtime event notification to the user experience design and implementation.
Who you are
- You have 5+ years of relevant (macOS or iOS) development experience and are fluent in Objective-C and/or Swift
- You are passionate about the Mac platform and value the importance of great user experience
- You have strong coding, design, and architecture skills.
- You are familiar with unit testing and functional testing methodologies.
- You have a history of collaboration and success in small, high-velocity teams.
- You have excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
- You have excellent attention to detail.
And these skills won't hurt either ;-)
- Experience building enterprise software or business critical systems
- Knowledge of low level filesystem design and implementation
- Cross-platform development experience with both native Mac and Windows applications
- Passion for cloud technologies
