Senior Procurement Specialist

Box is building their Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations team 
 
This is an exciting role with an opportunity to learn the business, further sharpen your procurement and strategic sourcing skills and contribute to the growth of business by supporting virtually all functions including IT, Sales, Marketing, Work Place Services (Facilities), HR, Finance, and Legal for procurement activities with the direction from the Sr Sourcing Manager.
 
On the strategic side, you will be involved in conducting Spend Analysis and developing Category Plans with the Sr Sourcing Manager.  In this growth environment, you will help identify important strategic tools, such as cloud-based Procurement and Contract Management Systems and be actively engaged in the implementation of such tools.  For large strategic procurement activities, you will use 5/7 steps Strategic Sourcing process including building cost models to drive data driven negotiations. You will also be involved in developing KPIs for monitoring supplier performance and conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with strategic suppliers, as applicable.
 
You will be involved in tactical procurement including the entire procure-to-pay cycle for all functions including IT, Sales, Marketing, Work Place Services (Facilities), HR, Finance, and Legal. You will work closely with teams like Compliance, Security and Legal to complete the procurement cycle including contractual terms. All of the tasks will involve partnering and collaborating with business owners and all stakeholders to facilitate recommendations for supplier evaluation/selection/contracting to reduce total cost of ownership.
 
In summary, you will:
  • Serve as a Procurement expert supporting all designated functions and be their single point of contact for all functions including IT hardware/software, Sales, Marketing, Work Place Services (Facilities), HR, Finance, and Legal.
  • Collect data and perform spend analysis, profile category, analyze and report data to explain market trends, savings and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Spearhead negotiations and align on pricing and business terms with suppliers, including but not limited to, SLAs, termination clauses, etc.
  • Conduct RFx processes.
  • Have knowledge of legal clauses and negotiations with industry vendors.
  • Systems/processes/tools improvements and implementations.
Additionally you will: 
  • Develop business relationships with internal partners with strong customer service focus and visibly demonstrating your value added contribution.
  • Attend planning/status update meetings, as needed, for supported functions.
  • Organize and lead business reviews with suppliers including development, preparation and review of supplier scorecards and performance metrics. Resolve major supplier performance issues.
  • Build dual or preferred supplier base programs with the business, where applicable.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance or a related field - supply chain concentration preferred - along with 1+ years of experience in Procurement/Sourcing - supporting IT (Software and Hardware) , Sales, Marketing, Facilities and other support functions. Strategic Sourcing, procure-to-pay  experience is a plus.
  • Cost modeling skills using Excel or other tools.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • 1+ years experience in all aspects of Procurement with technology-based corporations.
