Group Manager, Event Marketing and Demand Generation

The Global Events team at Box is looking for an experienced senior leader to drive demand generation and attendee acquisition for BoxWorks and Box World Tour - the signature brand and customer events Box produces annually. Box World Tour happens annually in the late Spring and acts as a continuation of messaging launched at BoxWorks which takes place each Fall in San Francisco.
 
This role will report to the Sr. Director, Global Events and will manage the strategic planning and day-to-day execution of external marketing campaigns (email, direct mails, awareness activities, etc) that drive current Box customers (and prospective customers) to BoxWorks and Box World Tour. This leader will present plans and innovative strategies to drive awareness and interest in both programs, reaching and, hopefully, exceeding ambitious registration and attendance goals for both. The ideal candidate has an extensive background in event demand generation, working on programs with attendance of 8,000 and higher. Independent thinking, a self-starting attitude and the ability to focus themselves and those around them in high pressure moments are essential. 
 
Job Requirements:
  • Manage event registration and attendance campaigns for Box World Tour and BoxWorks using email, social, direct mail, viral marketing and more to exceed registration, attendance and ROI goals
  • Maintain active reporting metrics, making recommendations on what to continue and/or stop as campaigns develop
  • Ability to implement campaign using internal resources (brand, digital, campaign and marketing operations team) without agency support 
  • Partner with internal teams, building consensus and accountability with all contributors. Teams include Brand team, Campaign team, Marketing Operations team, Communications team as well as Product Marketing and, of course, sales and customer success
  • Work closely with Brand and Product Marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging that drives real value to potential attendees 
  • Provide regular updates to Global Events team and key executive stakeholders 
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • 5-8 years direct experience driving registration and awareness for large-scale business conferences
  • Deep understanding of SFDC and Marketo as well as social media campaign management 
  • Creativity and innovate thinking alongside an understanding of data and the ability to critically assess campaigns and results 
  • Experience and comfort in presenting to executives, including C-level 
  • Experience with sales teams and leadership and their motivations
  • Understanding of the role of Brand Messaging in driving event awareness and registrations
  • Ability to think strategically while still executing at a tactical level 
  • A strong sense of humor, a love of food and a commitment to teamwork are musts
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, quickly changing and highly demanding work environment
