Corporate Development Manager

Box's Corporate Development team partners closely with the company's product and business leaders to drive corporate and strategic initiatives, develop the company's long-term strategy, analyze market activity, and source, evaluate, and execute M&A opportunities. We're dedicated to identifying and acquiring companies that grow Box's business, product, and customer reach.
We are looking for an individual who can immediately add value. The Corporate Development Manager will run the full process of M&A. This starts with ideation and strategic alignment with the executive team, then moves to sourcing acquisition opportunities, evaluating prospects, guiding the internal M&A evaluation process, negotiating deals, quarterbacking cross-functional diligence, finalizing purchase agreements, and overseeing successful integration and performance. 
This role will report directly to the Chief Strategy Officer and work closely with product leaders and the CEO. We need a self-starter who is passionate about the industry and can work independently. We will consider candidates at the Manager or Director level.
  • Work directly with executive team to fulfill product and business vision through acquisitions
  • Actively identify, source, and meet with acquisition prospects
  • Guide internal acquisition evaluation processes
  • Negotiate purchase structures and deal terms
  • Quarterback cross-functional diligence, working with product, engineering, finance, people, legal, go-to market, and executive teams
  • Build financial models to support valuation and establish key benchmarks for post-integration planning
  • Maintain a database of prospective companies across multiple areas of interest
  • Understand and be a source of critical information on the competitive landscape and industry offerings
  • Build relationships across all functions within Box, as well as external VC, finance, and startup ecosystems


  • Undergraduate degree from top-tier university with a strong academic record
  • 4 - 8 years of experience in M&A, corporate development, corporate strategy, product, business development, or finance
  • Experience at a technology company (enterprise software, SaaS, consumer internet)
  • Eager learner with a passion for the cloud software industry
  • Organized, self-starter
