Associate Creative Director, Senior Copywriter

Position Description:
The Associate Creative Director/Senior Copywriter is a new role to the Box organization, as we continue to build a world-class marketing organization. This role requires at least nine years of experience in an advertising or interactive agency, leading world-class, digital-centric, award-winning creative for Fortune 500 brands. Large,multi-channel campaigns are a must. You must also have solid management experience and come in ready to lead, nurture and inspire the in-house creative teams and provide steering to outside agencies as they are engaged.
 
The Associate Creative Director cultivates a passionate creative and entrepreneurial environment, shaping exceptional advertising, marketing and social activation programs for all facets of the company. The ACD will betasked with creating inspiring work that articulates a differentiated point of view across our major marketing activities. Most importantly, the ACD will also be responsible for ongoing development of their group's management skills, professional growth, conceptual ability and individual style.

  • Responsible maintaining and advancing the overall quality of strategic communication
  • Directing and guiding the execution of world-class responses to the creative brief
  • Mentoring and developing the internal creative team 
  • Keeping interest and excitement levels high, inside and outside of the department 
  • Provides consultation to Box leadership on the best approach to campaigns to drive impact
  • Act as an ambassador for the global brand program at Box, and continually nurture relationships across our marketing organization to foster world-class work
  • Ensure the use and formation of best practices to drive effectiveness across the department and company
  • Directing and guiding the execution of world-class content
  • Supervising writers, editors, content strategists; be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style
  • Participates in post-mortem reporting, including evaluation of process and infrastructure
 
 
Required Skills/Background:
  • Minimum ten (10) years experience, with not fewer than three (3) in a creative leadership position, with an Advertising, Digital or Design Agency (or in-house equivalents)
  • A bias towards storytelling
  • Another bias towards social activation and participatory marketing
  • Deft ability to draw out the hidden truth in a communications program, and succinctly capture its excellence without resorting to fluffery, gags, extensive borrowed equity or the seductive power of a chimpanzee on television    
  • An exceptional portfolio of groundbreaking work that inspires others to sharpen their pencils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must
  • Strong digital background essential; print and broadcast highly desired 
  • Strong industry knowledge and connections with both agencies and production houses
  • Bachelors Degree in Advertising, Journalism, Literature, English or related fields
