As a Principal Commodity Trading (m/f/d), you will be working directly with our clients and our colleagues from The Boston Consulting Group on projects to unlock additional value from asset-backed trading strategies, to build new or improved trading capabilities and solutions or solve their modernization and digitalization problems. You will be responsible for continuously evolving our offering, growing a team of internal and customer-facing commodity trading IT experts, connecting with new partners and extending our existing strong offering with deep domain and solution expertise.

Shape the world of tomorrow

Providing expert support to our clients in the energy industry with a particular focus on commodity trading; from requirements analysis, to target architecture definition, to solution implementation
Supporting the translation of business concepts into artefacts for the actual implementation teams (e.g., use case detailing, capability mapping, requirements engineering, process design, data domains and flow analysis)
Defining and designing new-build and custom-off-the-shelf trading solutions, including Commodity/Energy Trading and Risk Management (CTRM/ETRM), portfolio management, market access, market data, forecasting, scheduling and logistics solutions as well as digital data platforms and value measurement and optimization tools
Driving the digital agendas of our clients by supporting them in realizing novel capabilities and setting up their data and systems landscapes for the future
Managing large-scale transformation programs by steering implementation activities and by providing guidance to the delivery teams (e.g., business analysts, developers, QAs)
Enhancing delivery quality by providing guidance on methodological approaches and by ensuring adherence to industry best practices to delivery teams based on deep solution expertise and extensive experience in the commodity trading industry
Driving the evolution of our energy platforms, tech capabilities and service offerings in trading to create new opportunities for our energy clients worldwide
Building and leading a team of commodity trading experts that work directly with our clients but also develop and run prototypes and showcases in own environments

This is how you can make a difference

Above-average completion of a degree in computer science, (business) informatics, business administration, energy engineering, international trade or another related field
You have at least eight years of relevant experience in the context of trading, software development and management of implementation programs pre-dominantly in the commodity trading industry
You have solid experience in leading larger teams of business analysts, developers and QAs, across multiple work streams or multiple projects
You are familiar and have hands-on technical experience in the design, implementation and configuration of industry-leading commodity trading solutions, e.g., Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, Deltix, Beacon
You have exceptional analytical and conceptual skills, a natural drive for creating high-quality results and enjoy working with high-performing teams
You are willing to bring your communication and presentation skills to the next level to ensure the alignment of teams and organizations to a common goal and sell our concepts and proposals to business and IT stakeholders
An active network in trading companies, system vendors and/or system integrators is a plus
You are fluent in English (written and spoken), German language skills are a plus
