Sr. Javascript Developer, E-Commerce

Book of the Month is looking for an experienced JavaScript developer to lead development of all aspects of our subscription e-commerce back-end, including our subscription billing platform, order management platform, and inventory control systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced developer to build custom applications that run an at-scale subscription e-commerce business.  The successful candidate will utilize a unique combination of full-stack JavaScript expertise, strong SQL skills, and mathematical problem solving capabilities to build software that manages customer orders, allocates inventory across a multi-node warehousing network, calculates and executes subscription billing, and much more.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience shipping production code
  • Strong JavaScript skills, as well as proficiency in at least one other language
  • Strong SQL, including schema design and query tuning.
  • Excellent mathematics and statistics skills.
  • Proficiency with team-oriented development tools, such as Git.
  • Excellent communication skills

Ideal

  • Experience with cloud application services, preferably AWS (RDS, EC2, SQS, CloudFront, R53, S3, Lambda, and many more)
  • Expert at Linux bash scripting & IT automation
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, ETLs, and DevOps.
