Network Orchestration Tools Developer

Booking.com is looking for a developer to join the network team to build monitoring, management and automation tools. You will play a key role designing and implementing solutions to provide visibility into the health and performance of a globally distributed network, automate the deployment of new sites and minimize maintenance toil. You will have the opportunity to help improve the in-house network management platform into a more flexible, reliable and scalable orchestration framework.

B.responsible

  • Design, develop, deploy and maintain network management and automation tools;
  • Automate everything from service provisioning to monitoring and alerting;
  • Monitor services quality, stability and performance;
  • Continuously improve user experience;
  • Support the team isolating and resolving production issues;
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and product owners to bring new features and services into production;
  • Develop and maintain software programming interfaces and document your work;
  • Contribute to Booking.com's growth through interviewing, on-boarding, or other recruitment efforts.

B.skilled

  • 4+ years experience with software development in an infrastructure environment;
  • 3+ years of Python programming experience;
  • Experience with Linux based systems;
  • Understanding of Network concepts including routing and switching;
  • Familiarity with network and/or system monitoring;
  • HTML, CSS and JavaScript programming experience;
  • Experience with database systems;
  • Willingness to acquire networking skills (training provided);
  • You can work in a team, but are also able to manage your own time.

Exposure to the following is an advantage:

  • Experience with Juniper or Aruba devices;
  • Experience with Wireless networks;
  • Experience with web frameworks (Django, Flask, Dancer);
  • Familiarity with basic network protocols (STP, LLDP, OSPF, BGP);
  • CCNA level of network knowledge;
  • Experience with configuration management tools like puppet or chef;
  • Perl programming experience.
