Legal and Privacy Counsel

Technology is rapidly developing. With the increasing importance of data protection and privacy laws within Europe and globally, including the upcoming changes to EU legislation, Booking.com has decided to further expand its privacy team.
As a member of the legal team of Booking.com, located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, you will work in a team of dedicated lawyers. The job function will include the assessment of data processing activities within the global Booking.com corporate group, conducting privacy risk assessments, providing legal advice for any privacy related matters globally, including electronic marketing laws, keeping up with new developments in data protection and privacy laws, implementing and maintaining privacy policies and procedures, drafting data processing agreements with group members or third party vendors, delivering trainings as needed and working with colleagues and outside counsels worldwide.
The legal department is broadly divided into group functions, but cross-functional support throughout the team as needed may by be asked.
- 2 – 3 years of relevant experience in a top tier law firm and/or major corporation
- Legal degree
- Experience and good knowledge of data protection and consumer laws, privacy compliance and data security
- Relevant certifications (CIPP) desired
- Good knowledge and understanding of IT processes
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Other language skills are a plus
- Team player
