We are currently looking for our Head of HR Americas (Regional VP equivalent). The role will reside in Seattle (or New York City) and report to our Managing Director, Americas (based in Seattle), with a dual reporting line to the Chief People Officer (based in Amsterdam). Leading an organization of 80+ dedicated HR professionals in the Americas People Team which supports over 2,500 Booking.com employees in 30+ offices across North, Central and South America, you will be responsible for delivering a world class employee experience and for making Booking.com a place where people can do their best work. You will direct and control all HR activities through direct reports pertaining to recruitment, culture, performance, development, total rewards, employee relations and policies, as well as establishing strategic organizational development plans for the region – to ensure that our HR function is dynamic and capable of supporting the delivery of ambitious business growth plans.

You Will:

Lead and manage all human capital issues related to a young, fast growing global leader in travel tech. Manage all issues related to Booking.com entering new and unique American markets, and continue to scale the workforce to over 3,000 people in the region:

  • Work closely with and advise the management team on strategic and operational people issues
  • Scale, challenge the way things are done to develop world class teams and people
  • Effectively instill the corporate culture, vision and values within the company
  • Take an active role in driving the talent acquisition strategy and process across all regional offices
  • Implementing new HR practices for talent retention and overall organization development
  • Ensure planning, evaluation and implementation of career planning and succession plans
  • Advise and work on issues of compensation, benefits and loyalty
  • Take ownership for driving employee engagement and achieving "Best Place to Work" status
  • Manage training and development programs for all levels of employees
  • Proactively participate in the budgeting and strategic planning process
  • Lead the design and implementation of employee relations and communications programs
  • Provide counseling/advice on cultural and country specific practices where necessary
  • Maintain up-to-date information on statutory requirements and employment legislation
  • Lead and manage the Office team, responsible for all daily office operations across the region
