Global Program Manager - HR Projects


As a Program manager you help drive the People Agenda aligned to our business objectives managing a portfolio of complex change initiatives globally, and projects that span multiples business units, people areas and geographies. In this role you lead cross-functional teams across HR and the business, ensuring effective implementation and a high adoption of HR change. 

You are capable of directly managing a number of Project Managers, Project Analysts and utilising PMO and additional resources to achieve success. You are a leader of the COE teams that you work with and continuously ensure the COE teams are on track and designing the right change for the business and employee needs. You also play a key role in ensuring employee experience centred design out of COEs, supporting their effectiveness and driving their agenda for success. 

You partner with Director and LT in a critical advisory capacity, challenging their direction and delivery and influencing as required to ensure the people plan is put first and the departments strategic priorities and effectively delivered.

B.Responsible

  • Lead individual/multiple COE teams to develop effective processes, approaches, procedures and products 
  • Develop and deliver against complex project and program plans to help drive forward COEs and ensure the People Department delivers the strategic change to the business
  • Drive COE effectiveness - challenging designs, delivery and sequencing of change
  • Expand program offering and enhancing the quality of existing projects and programs
  • Set the direction and hold cross-functional teams accountable for delivering against agreed objectives and people plan
  • Raise risk to PLT/LT and develop robust mitigation plans to overcome risk
  • Directly manage team(s) of project managers, analysts and cross-team functional team members as required for program success
  • Develop effective communication plans and communications in partnership with the COEs to ensure change lands effectively out to this business
  • Manage PPD budgets and support COE budgetary spend on the right change support (e.g. external agencies and consultancies) - support the SOW and contracting as necessary
  • Run design workshops and ensure employee experience centred design across the portfolio of projects and COE delivery
  • Develop, report and track success metrics on program performance to PLT and leadership 
  • Effectively influence and obtain sponsorship from PLT, ELT, Leadership to achieve program success and overcome resistance to change 
  • Develop a trusted and critical adviser relationship with the People Leadership Team, ELT and LT - ensuring that the people agenda is high up on the businesses strategic agenda and that sufficient time and attention is given to the right activities at the right time
  • Identifying opportunities for continual improvement across the People Department
  • Ensure relevant compliance, standards, policy and regulations are upheld across the project portfolio
  • Own the full project and change life cycle  of programs/value streams
  • Break down complex business challenges into smaller problems with actionable solutions for every team involved globally
  • Provide on-site leadership, establishing practices, templates, tools and partnerships to expand and mature program and project capabilities within the team and department
  • Be able to competently manage a team of direct reports to achieve the above responsibilities
  • Bridge the gap between COEs and HR Advisory teams to reduce silo'd working and bring greater alignment, collaboration and working dynamic to the department

B.Skilled 
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple people and business organizations
  • Ability to influence and steer leadership and extended leadership
  • Able to develop, support and deliver people strategies
  • 8+ years of experience managing the full project and change lifecycle and achieve business results
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills
  • 8+ years of experience maintaining relationships and working with (senior) business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Proven ability  to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Proven ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal, overcoming obstacles and delivering solutions to problems
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and under pressure
  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and operational excellence
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • In-depth HR knowledge of practices, processes, target operating models, OD, design and employee experience
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change - including driving transformation change across regions globally
  • M&A experience preferable
