Director - Delivery & Organisational Success

As a Director of Delivery & Organisational Success, you are responsible for leading your function to help drive the delivery in Accommodations but more importantly shape the delivery practices from both ways of working and cultural perspective. is an Agile organisation and aspires to lead in this space therefore this role is critical to blending strong Agile ways of working with programmes of work and more importantly setting our teams up for success.

Your focus will be on:
  • Technical Programme Management focused on managing programmes of work that is multi track or Business Unit
  • Agile coaching supporting capability to develop and grow the agile capability across Accommodations.
  • Talent & Delivery support to develop and grow our people in both team maturity and capability, this team supports the administration
  • Partnering with Recruitment to continue to ensure future org growth
  • Partner with HR to drive engagement; go-to team to drive org-wide people initiatives
  • Functional management of augmentation and remote development models
In your role you will lead the Delivery & Organisational Success making a marked contribution in defining the direction of new products, processes or operational plans in line with the vision and strategy. Your role will operate in the mid to long term strategic narrative of the organisation ensuring that the organisation is set up for success through building a fantastic team, excellent ways of working and great technology. You inspire trust, empowerment and can do culture. You get things done via influence not authority. You unlock the creativity of your team and inspire them to deliver the best work for our customers. You work closely with your product and technology counterparts to ensure we are always working towards what's most important for our customers and to achieve high business impact.

You take full end to end responsibility for your function.

B. Responsible

People & Function Leadership
  • Lead, inspire and motivate your function through leading by example and setting expectations around what success looks like, giving ownership and providing clarity when necessary
  • Line management of a multi-disciplinary team of Senior Manager, Managers and team members
  • Accountable for Technical Programme Managers, Agile Coaches and Talent support
  • Take accountability for yourself and others by setting expectations around what success looks like, giving ownership and providing clarity when necessary
  • Engage the whole of the Accommodations organisation with clear communication to create the environment for success
  • Drive engagement, collaborate and foster trust at all levels of the organisation
  • Lead on people centric initiatives that enable workforce diversity
  • Create a learning environment by coaching, two-way feedback, helping people extract and share personal learnings, and support teams to constantly adapt
  • Organisational design and strategy to ensure we are set up to deliver on our strategic agenda
  • Partner in and outside of our Business unit to lead and shape the people agenda across

Agile Focus & Delivery Leadership
  • Set the strategy and agenda across the whole of Accommodations for delivery and agile engineering
  • Influence and drive embedding agile best practice and maturity across Accommodations
  • Evangelise and champion a culture of cross functional and collaborate agile teams
  • Lead and accountable for the portfolio for Technical Programmes of work across all of Accommodations comprised of over >150 teams
  • Ownership of delivery governance framework for technology initiatives across all of Accommodations partnering with Business Operations, ensuring this is fit for purpose and fits in with existing practices and organisation culture
  • Ensure the robust delivery management long-term strategic plans that align with the overall focus of the business
  • Anticipate the need for changes based on context, and set renewed courses of action to engage teams and achieve goals, while striving to make the impact clear and understandable
  • When required and your team doesn't have capacity, Lead, take ownership, shape and manage key strategic business programmes from inception through to delivery across multiple teams, product groups and other parts of the business.
  • Senior stakeholder and communication management, including working closely with Engineering and Product sponsors to deliver these key business initiatives
  • Partner with other functions and business units to deliver on our strategic agenda
  • Maintain focus on the end goal, minimise risk and remove roadblocks for our strategic agenda
  • Ensure clear and effective communication at all levels including the LT: proactively keep all stakeholders informed of what's happening, upcoming changes, projects, issues and risks
  • Own Technology-wide topics and help lead and grow the department
  • Identify problems and significantly improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques drawing from personal experiences and feedback
  • Manage dependencies, risks, issues, go live plans and challenging delivery thinking
  • Management of external parties where required
  • Challenge the business to think in an evolutionary manner and support the transformations
  • Be proactive in driving improvements across the organisation
  • Drive innovation and curiosity across Accommodation in order to inspect, adapt and evolve
  • 10+ years of Tech and Delivery Leadership experience
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering critical business initiatives in digital organisations with Product and Engineering led teams
  • Demonstrable experience using a range of lean/agile project/programme management frameworks at scale for engineering functions > 250 people in conjunction with programmes and projects
  • Building trust and empower teams is critical therefore must be people centric with a strong focus culture
  • Demonstrable experience of building a technical delivery capability that is embedded across other functions who run technical programmes and portfolios of work
  • Demonstrable experience of setting, leading and influencing the delivery portfolio of both the Engineering and Business portfolio for the medium and long-term
  • Must have strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Must be proactive with stakeholder management
  • Experience of product development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Lean working and principles
  • Background in technology, ideally in Software Development and Engineering.
  • Experience with managing and coaching teams of senior tech leaders including building and growing teams
  • Independent, pragmatic and proactive work attitude
  • Be humble and human
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels including the Leadership team
  • Good commercial acumen
