Data Product Manager
About us
At Booking.com, we help millions of travelers explore the world every day. Our mission is to make it easier for everyone to experience the world. Data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code or A/B tests. We're the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the next morning. The friends you encounter. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the memories you make.
Growth Marketing
Growth Marketing plays a key role in connecting travelers with the right trip at the right moment. We are responsible for how we scale and optimize our digital reach. We design the platforms, tools, and data foundations that power investments across major channels (Messaging, Social, App Stores), ensuring every euro spent is measurable, consent-aware, and focused on driving customer value.
The Digital & App track within Growth marketing is responsible for building the products that handle marketing performance data, enable efficient media allocation, and scale creatives across formats and markets. With millions in global media spend, the growth of AI, short-form video, and new audience opportunities, we are investing in smarter data, more automation, and faster experimentation to drive the next wave of growth at Booking.com.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Product Manager to lead the Data & Measurement team - the backbone that supplies trusted, privacy‑aware signals for both app and digital marketing across social media channels, advertising/media platforms and key mobile app ecosystems. You'll own the strategy and roadmap for how performance data is ingested, standardized, modeled, shared, and monitored so that marketers, data scientists, and external channel partners can make confident, timely decisions.
You'll collaborate with engineering, data science/analytics, marketers, privacy/legal, sister engineering teams, and external platforms. Your north star: reliable, discoverable, observable data products-spanning server‑side signals for web/digital and app‑specific signals via Mobile Measurement Partners and iOS/Android attribution frameworks.
What success looks like
- Trust at scale: Shared taxonomies and metrics; strong match rates and deduplication across ad platforms and app attribution.
- Operational excellence: Deliver on data product SLOs across completeness, timeliness and consistency quality dimensions.
- Activation‑ready data: Consent‑aware exports via clean rooms (privacy‑preserving collaboration environments) are accurate, documented, and easy to adopt.
- Adoption & impact: Canonical data sets become the single source of truth powering budget decisions, creative iteration, and incrementality/iROI insights.
Key Responsibilities
Signal Ingestion & Standardization
- Own ingestion from major ad platforms and app channels; enforce consistent schemas (campaign/ad set, spend, impressions, clicks, installs, conversions) across web and app.
Modeling & Transformation
- Maintain canonical models for performance, attribution/installs, funnels, and behavioral signals; drive versioned, testable transformations and aligned metric definitions.
Activation & Privacy
- Enable partner/platform sharing via data clean rooms; support server‑to‑server conversion tracking and postbacks;improve signal/match rates for targeting & measurement; embed privacy‑by‑design.
Observability & Reliability
- Ship data health dashboards with actionable alerts/runbooks; coordinate issue management processes for critical pipelines and validate post‑change business impact.
Governance
- Establish data contracts with upstream producers, event streaming platforms for real‑time behavioral/transaction events with SLOs and validation mechanisms.
- Treat datasets as data products: owners, consumers, SLOs, and catalogs; maintain audit trails.
Cross‑Functional Enablement
- Marketing teams: Deliver reliable signals and guidance to run high‑performing, relevant ads; close feedback loops on gaps.
- Data science/analytics: Provide clean inputs for experimentation, incrementality/iROI, and model training; partner on metric definitions and test design.

- Experience building APIs for marketing partner integrations; comfort dealing with rate limits, and schema changes.
- Proven track record establishing SLIs & SLOs, familiarity with orchestration, and observability and with incident management (including post‑mortems).
- Exposure to event streaming and SDK event schema design; experience with web pixels and server‑to‑server tracking technologies.
- Working knowledge of privacy & consent frameworks relevant to marketing
- Understanding of incrementality/iROI, lift tests, and how these inform budget allocation and creative strategy.
