Booking.com BV (the company behind Booking.com™, the market leading online hotel reservation service in the world) is looking for an Account Security Analyst. The goal of the Account Security Operations team is to prevent, detect and respond to anomalies and suspicious behaviour threatening the security of our guest and accomodation partner accounts. Continuous improvement on detection and response capabilities is key. The Account Security Operations team is part of Security Operations within Technology.

 

As an Account Security Analyst you will be responsible for monitoring the cyber security baseline and detecting, analyzing, assessing (potential) impact and responding to anomalous events against Booking.com guest and partner accounts. As a member of this team, you will participate in the defense of one of the world's leading e-commerce organizations, their customers and their partners and will have the opportunity to learn, and develop skills in a truly world leading and innovative security practice. You must be both an excellent communicator, adept at stakeholder management with a great sense of commercial awareness as well as a security professional with a proven track record of innovative solutions to complex and sometimes technical security issues with a passion for the topic and a drive to learn and grow.

B.responsible

  • Monitor, triage and respond to security incidents including, but not limited to, account compromise, phishing, scams and data privacy issues targeting both our guests and accommodation partners;
  • Own investigations from end to end ensuring that both partner and guest accounts are secure and all relevant actions are taken and stakeholders are informed;
  • Ensure that SLA of account security alerts is maintained;
  • Analyze data sets and support investigation and incident response activities;
  • Communicate and involve relevant internal and external stakeholders to respond to escalations and security incidents as a first point of contact for all stakeholders e.g. Legal, Customer Service, Finance, Partner Services;
  • Perform analysis of account and/or threat actor activity to understand what happened, and what mitigation measures are to be taken;
  • Use a combination of manual and automated tools to analyze data;
  • Conceive, drive and continuously revise automated strategies and approaches for Booking.com's security and fraud operations within the big picture of the organization;
  • Build and maintain an effective working relationship with product teams to facilitate innovation and product development in the Account Security space;
  • Work effectively with team members and other teams by communicating trends and sharing ideas and knowledge in a constructive and positive manner;
  • Contribute or lead other projects which enhance Booking.com's account security posture while maintaining focus on a positive customer experience;

 

B.skilled


  • Minimum of 3 years of knowledge and experience with regard to fraud and/or cyber security;
  • Specifically, experience with account takeover/compromise is a plus;
  • BSc, MSc or equivalent, preferably in Law, Computer Science, Criminology, Physics, Econometrics, or comparable;
  • Must have strong decision making ability and be self-disciplined;
  • Ability to create, modify and execute SQL and Hadoop database queries to retrieve and analyze data;
  • Experience working in a fast paced global organisation;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to share knowledge and to communicate effectively with different stakeholders both written and verbally;
  • Ability to prioritize incoming escalations and requests appropriately;
  • Self-starter and proactive;
  • Team player able to work independently as well as in a team;
  • Strong sense of ownership, delivering effective and innovative solutions in collaboration with product teams;
  • Hands-on attitude;
  • Comfortable working fluently in English, both written and verbal;
  • Strong commercial awareness;
  • No 9-5 mentality;
  • Knowledge of travel industry is a plus;
  • Currently living in the Netherlands or willing to relocate;
