Planning Manager

Bonobos is looking for a Manager of Planning who possesses excellent judgment in all things product.

Reporting to our VP of Planning, you will be responsible for driving sales, margin and inventory performances for multiple categories. You will liaise across the entire business with frequent collaboration across Planning, Merchandising, Production, Guideshop, Operations & Marketing teams.

What you'll do…         

  • Work with Merchants and Assistant/Associate Planners on pre-season category plans for sales, margin, and inventory in the context of top-line growth expectations
  • Manage the in-season health of business with targeted course of actions through markdowns and promotions that minimize off price behavior
  • Supervise financials and oversee monthly OTB meetings – suggest future course of action to maximize inventory investments and capitalize on sales opportunities while minimizing risk
  • Record and analyze key KPI’s and report out daily/monthly/weekly on performance as well as lead quarterly hindsights for owned categories
  • Engage partners on the Marketing and Guideshop teams to ensure proper product and category representation in these channels relative to inventory investments
  • Partner with cross functional teams in Technology and Data science to implement, develop, and enhance planning tools and processes that support integrity, innovation, and best practices
  • Oversee Business Planning Analysts to ensure that necessary inventory movements are made between Guideshop locations/DC/Wholesale in a timely fashion to ensure gross margin maximization
  • Oversee forecasting of investments in Basic product and key item plans that maximize in stock rates and minimize turn
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills with the ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Provide timely direction and feedback to direct reports to foster skill development and performance improvement; provide supervisor with timely feedback on personal development and training needs

  • Have 5+ years of merchandise planning or other relevant experience
  • Are a self-starter, solution oriented, and results focused
  • Are excited to build processes and reports to analyze sales, stock and profitability across business segments
  • Can be considered an "excel ninja", with a black-belt in formulas, pivot tables, and the like
  • Are excited to get scrappy and dig into business drivers
  • Have strong communication skills; a gifted wordsmith and a talented orator
  • Are a strong leader with a proven track record in management who leads by example and hits delivery dates on or ahead of schedule
  • Are detailed in your work, while maintaining the ability to see the overall picture and challenge the traditional path
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve team initiatives
  • Convey a can-do, positive attitude towards tackling problems
  • Are able to see other points-of-view while maintaining confident direction
  • Have the willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what’s necessary
