Manager of Product Management

Bonobos is seeking a Manager of Product Management who possesses uncanny empathy for our users (and Engineers!) and who delivers tightly executed products without the fear of breaking a few things along the way.

With plenty of projects coming down the pipeline and exciting challenges abound, it is a great time to join our team. Internal Systems projects touch many different areas of the business, including; Enterprise Resource System (ERP), Operations and Logistics, Warehouse Management Systems, and Delivery and Fulfilment. The Manager of Product Management will be responsible for:

  • Coaching and developing a strong, high-performing team of product managers
  • Ensuring team executes on best practice product management
  • Contributing to and executing the company's overall product strategy, and the various products in the company's portfolio

They will be taking the role of Player and Coach. This role requires leadership and direction of a small Product Management team that will be defining, researching and executing product enhancements for our core business functions. They will be responsible for measuring success in terms of business and customer value, and thinking strategically and holistically about how Bonobos can improve or innovate internally to maximize process effectiveness and efficiencies.

This role requires frequent collaboration with the Engineering, User Experience, Customer Insights, and Data Science teams. You will also work cross-functionally, with Accounting, Planning, Production, Operations, Customer Service and Merchandising.

What you’ll do...

  • Lead and coach a Product Management team
  • Define the overall strategic direction of the Product Management team by identifying clear and measurable strategic KPIs for internal systems products
  • Maintain a product and feature roadmap, managing backlog prioritization
  • Closely monitor the market, competitors, analytics and customer feedback to guide product strategy
  • Clearly communicate the progress and results of the team to the rest of the company
  • Advocate for product management and its processes across the organization
  • Be a subject matter expert for internal systems and tools
  • Execute projects as required


  • Have a track record of taking new products from synthesis to launch
  • Experience in leading and managing a team
  • Are detailed in your work, while maintaining the ability to see the overall picture and challenge the traditional path
  • Lead by example, make milestones and hit delivery dates on or ahead of schedule
  • Are data-driven and have experience with A/B and multivariate testing
  • Are passionate about eCommerce
  • Are familiar with various software development lifecycles
  • Are experienced in translating user needs into user stories
  • Are a natural consensus builder across all levels of a company
  • Are positive and energetic; love working with people

    Technical competencies

  • Are knowledgable of how internal systems and processes impact business and the customer (could include systems like ERP, WMS, CMS, etc)
  • Possess strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Understand how to design AB tests and interpret test results
  • Lead ideation workshops and product planning sessions
  • Have a solid understanding of basic UX principles
  • Are familiar with eCommerce trends and best practices
  • Understand agile development practices

    Non-technical competencies

  • Effectively communicate (verbal & written) internally/externally
  • Able to sell ideas and clearly explain product concepts
  • Can lead both an internal and external team 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with co-workers
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve team initiatives

  • 5+ years product management experience in retail or ecommerce industry
