Job Title: Lead UI/UX Designer

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about designing outstanding digital experiences to work alongside product managers, engineers, data scientists and other designers. You will be joining an entrepreneurial team responsible for developing the next generation of data-driven capabilities for clients and staff. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a team of designers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction and mentorship for a team of designers
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops and lead ideation to explore opportunities
- Synthesize user needs and business objectives to formulate testable prototypes and validate hypotheses
- Rapidly prototype and create human-centric designs that represent ideal workable solutions for the end users
- Lead user research to better understand user needs and behaviors, identify opportunities for making improvements and facilitate usability testing
- Develop high quality visual layouts and interfaces based on user research, business requirements and technical constraints
- Provide creative direction and mentorship to the design team, with a focus on UX and service design best practices
- Manage project timelines along with design team's workload and priorities, ensuring that all projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, partners, and senior leaders, to ensure that the design team's work is well received and understood
- Proven experience as a team lead or manager in a design environment
- Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills showing examples of your end-to-end design process from concept through implementation
- Excellent leadership, mentorship, and management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team of designers
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in building consensus and stakeholder management.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, while ensuring the design team is following design processes and delivering high-quality work
- A deep understanding of user research, generative research, usability testing and analysis
- Experience designing complex user workflows, decision-support systems, data visualizations, information architecture and graphic/visual design
- Understanding of design systems, how they are used, and best-in-class examples along with hands-on experience in a design system or a design language.
- Experience with complex data driven visualizations/dashboards is a plus
- Experience with agile, lean UX and design thinking
- Proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, Sketch, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human computer interaction or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred
- 10-12 years of experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
