Overview

Technology Risk Management (TRM):

TRM is a 2 nd line of defense function, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer of BNY Mellon, that provides oversight and challenge to the company's Technology organization and related business areas. The goal of TRM is to make sure that technology, cyber / information security, resiliency, data and technology third party risks are clearly understood by the first line of defense, transparently reported through governance and managed within the defined risk appetite and risk management framework.

Reporting Line:

The Principal, Infrastructure & Shared Services will report to the Director, Infrastructure & Shared Services, within the Technology Risk Management function.

Role Overview:

The Principal, Technology Risk Management is a Technology Infrastructure expert within the Global Technology Risk function of BNY Mellon. The candidate will have strong technical understanding of Technology Infrastructure and its related domains such as Communication Networks, Computing / Server platforms, Endpoint platforms, Data Centers, and Cyber technologies and be comfortable with challenging / suggesting alternative methods of approaching technology risk remediation within the domain to strengthen the first line of defense.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with 1st Line of defence and assess their compliance with the enterprise level Technology Risk in all matters of Technology Infrastructure and related technologies in general.
  • Apply understanding of systems and solutions architecture, data architecture, software development, operations, system life cycle, technical controls, etc., to anticipate technology risks inherent to the assigned areas of technology.
  • Leads the assessment, monitoring, and reporting on technology infrastructure risks inherent to business activities, including cyber and technology risk concepts.
  • Applies influence to ensure the availability of technology risk input requirements, to build consensus on risk mitigation and remediation strategies among global and/or regional stakeholder groups.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years' experience in Technology and/or Risk required.
  • Strong technical expertise in two or more related Technology Infrastructure domains such as Communication Networks, Computing / Middleware / Server Platforms, Endpoint platforms, CI/CD Pipeline, Data Centres, and/or Cyber Security.
  • Communication skills must range from participation in detailed technical discussions to business-oriented presentations to working closely with senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive them forward in a collaborative manner.
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • CISSP or CISA, CRISC and ISACA certifications preferred.
BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $96,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
