Sr. Software Engineer

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an experienced full-stack software engineer to help us design, implement, and maintain web applications for customer support.  You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and other software engineers to provide the most epic customer support experience.  We are a game-loving group of geeks who team up for Heroes of the Storm or Overwatch games whenever there is down time; you’ll be welcome even if you main Hanzo!   • Design and implement innovative solutions to deliver an epic support experience to Blizzard customers (we won’t settle for uncommon or rare!)
  • Mentor and increase the expertise of other members of the team (Learn and Grow is one of our eight core values!)

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Deep understanding developing web applications using the Java platform and Spring Framework (80% of time)
  • Strong experience of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
  • Experience developing web applications using Node.js and JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, Ember.js, or React
  • Strong knowledge of current web development trends and a passion to stay current
  • Passion for video games and online gaming platforms
  • Experience collaborating effectively in large multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing performance of web applications
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors such as Sass, Less, and Myth
  • Experience with knowledge base software and content management systems
  • Experience with full-text search strategies and engines such as Elasticsearch and Apache Solr
  • Experience with data mining, machine learning, and artificial intelligence libraries and frameworks
  • Experience with public cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Compute) and private cloud solutions (e.g. OpenStack, VMware)
  • Experience with container development and orchestration solutions such as Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, or Apache Mesos
  • Contributions to open-source or personal projects
