Reporting to the Sr. Director, Branded Content, provides creative leadership on a conceptual as well as craft level for the branded content team. The Art Director acts as visual lead on initiatives for Bleacher Report creative assets and implementation. Must be a creative visionary with a broad interactive, video, mobile and graphic design background. The Art Director is responsible for translating both 'user' and 'stakeholder' needs into functional, creative visual solutions, while managing a junior designers to communicate both brand consistency and unique approaches to visual design. The ideal candidate will push the limits of creativity with a deep understanding of new technologies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • managing, leading, and developing the design team responsible for internal and external sales, marketing, and branding initiatives
  • supervising and unifying the sales design language and vision
  • collaborating with product design, sales, and marketing to deliver polished concepts under tight deadlines
  • working with external ad agencies to bridge the gap between the clients’ design direction and internal product guidelines
  • communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale to other members of the design
  • maintaining a working template for the designers as well as clients to be able to integrate their branding and messaging in the Bleacher Report experienc

Seeking candidates with:

  • have 6+ years of design (visual) experience
  • have experience leading design projects and managing other designers
  • have a portfolio that demonstrates superb aesthetic style, including extensive experience with web and mobile advertising
  • have expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop & Illustrator)
  • have exceptional communication skills
  • be able to give and take design direction to create a clear, solid working concept
  • be comfortable in a fast-pace environment with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • demonstrate consistent attention to detail


Bonus points for those who:

  • have a BA or MFA in Graphic Design or related field
  • are familiar with sports websites, blogs, and forums
  • are a sports fan
