About this role

Job Purpose/Background:

Reporting to the Global Head of Workplace Experience, the NYC Hub Lead for Workplace Experience leads the coordination of all workplace experience activities for the portfolio of facilities within the New York City campus. The Hub Lead will ensure delivery local requirements and priorities within the framework of the global Workplace Experience organization.

The Hub Lead will lead the Workplace Operations team to meet business needs in each office, including oversight and participation in strategic real estate initiatives and project management, and day-to-day delivery in the following areas: Reception & Hospitality services, facility (hard and soft services) operations and maintenance, and move management. The delivery of these services will be coordinated between the local Workspace Operations team - both full time and outsourced vendor staff - and partners responsible for delivery of supporting services.

In addition, the Hub Lead will lead the transition to a new headquarters over the next 18 months. Working closely with the construction project team, the Hub Lead will be responsible for the development and execution of an operational plan to run a client-focused period of dual site operation, transition and stabilization into the new facility operation. This includes driving procurement and vendor selection for campus operations, developing and executing staffing and training plans, and maintaining engagement and communication with corporate partners and staff to align execution with customer requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

Client engagement: Ensure consistent engagement and communication with business partners to understand and shape client requirements and provide channels for regular feedback on Workplace performance and client happiness. Working as a strategic partner with leadership, develop strategic and tactical initiatives to address business needs.

Financial management: Provide consistent oversight and management to established financial objectives. Lead the development of annual site budgets to achieve financial targets and provide supervision to ensure targets are met.

Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, partnering with regional and global stakeholders as appropriate to ensure alignment with vendor governance requirements. Ensure regular performance reviews and work with vendor leadership to drive high performance and best value for BlackRock.

People and Performance Management: Accountable for the day-to-day management of work and the supervision, development and oversight of Workplace Operations team in your hub. Ensure development and management to clear objectives and performance expectations.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong communication and presentation abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to influence outcomes and drive effective results across a multitude of senior business partners. Ability to quickly produce management-level quality presentations and business memos that synthesize key information using data and analytics.

Interpersonal skills: Ability to engage diverse set of partners, build long-term relationships, and create a collaborative and approachable environment, especially when working across departments or time sensitivity.

Customer focus: Ability to emphasize client-focused outcomes while balancing competing priorities (including cost management).

Problem solving: Structured and analytical leader with outstanding problem-solving abilities who can organize people under fast paced conditions, pull in key decision makers to prioritize issues and respond to clients and senior management.

Project management: Efficiently run project processes, navigate trade-offs and effectively manage own and others' time. High degree of organization and ability to balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of proven experience running a sophisticated facilities portfolio that includes headquarters or signature office management, with preference for experience in New York City.
  • Experience working in a matrix management environment.
  • Significant experience with IWMS systems and data analysis tools including spreadsheets for financial analysis.
  • 3-5 years team management experience, with preference for virtual / remote management.
