Trainer, Sales Enablement

We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and passionate Trainer to join our Enablement team to help our sales team develop competencies that drive business results. The primary objectives of this position are to deliver engaging and results-driven training curriculum, provide coaching, and support continuous learning in our sales organization to increase speed to productivity. This includes new hire onboarding, ongoing training of existing representatives, targeted coaching, and acting as a SME to support the development and enhancement of enablement content.  BlackLine’s sales team is global and multi-channel. 


  • Develop a deep understanding of our sales organization’s practices, processes, and tools to incorporate into online and in-person training initiatives and programs
  • Support delivery of sales training and certification programs relating to professional, value-based selling skills as well as our sales process and methodology
  • Prepare new sales representatives by conducting orientation to sales process, developing individual coaching plans, and providing resources and assistance
  • Partner with Sales and Enablement Leadership to identify and maintain a sales competency and assessment framework to ensure sales representatives training needs are met and there is a proper hand-off upon completion of the onboarding program
  • Provide mentorship and continuing education for existing sales representatives to increase sales effectiveness, efficiency and productivity
  • Monitor trainees' knowledge before and after training to evaluate core competencies, determine performance gaps, and share feedback with sales management
  • Make recommendations to continuously improve internal processes, standards, and training solutions based on observations and feedback from the field
  • Collaborate with the Sales Enablement team to utilize adult learning principles that best fits the needs of the audience and content (online, classroom, blended learning methods, on-demand, etc.) and to iterate on new and existing programs
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of sales training experience, preferably in the B2B/SaaS space
  • Ability to understand the strategic direction and goals of the sales organization and support processes to facilitate achievement of business objectives
  • Ability to translate concepts, summarize and communicate complex ideas, and clearly articulate business value with a good sense of how sales professionals think, operate, and absorb training
  • Well-versed in adult learning principles and L&D trends
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to conduct engaging online learning sessions
  • Proven success as a coach to sales professionals
  • Ability to collaborate with business partners to identify specific factors beyond training that contribute to a change in behavior and performance
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and open learning environment
  • Ability to provide constructive and positive feedback in order to maximize performance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adaptable and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
  • Willing and able to travel as needed


  • 1+ years in a quota-carrying sales role
  • Training or Coaching Certifications
