IT Asset Management Analyst

The IT Asset Management Analyst will be accountable for the strategic development of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) Process within Blackbaud. This position will also ensure that the process is clearly defined and managed with a focus on the business objectives and outcomes. This single point of accountability is essential to provide the level of attention and focus required for compliance. The objective of this role is to establish centralization, accountability and ownership over the process and ensuring there is a balance between the key components of a good Service Management environment: People, Technology/Tool, Process and Oversight.


  • Establish and maintain IT Asset Management Strategy & Process
  • Lead requirements gathering, business case development and solution selection for IT Asset Management process including people, process and tools
  • Design process and ensure that the relevant process documentation is available and current
  • Ensure process team members have the required knowledge, technical and business understanding to deliver the process and to understand their role in the process
  • Define Critical Success Factors (CSF) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that will be used to measure the IT Asset Management Process
  • Communicate process changes, and other process information to staff and management to maintain awareness of the process activities
  • Maintain Continuous Process Improvement Plans on a regular basis
  • Analyze process performance reports
  • Partner with customers and process owners to ensure appropriate service levels and controls
  • Develop and manage IT Asset Management standards, plans, registration procedures, access controls and privileges
  • Review and approve interfaces with other service support processes (Change, Incident, Problem, etc.,) and administration functions
  • Collaborate with other process owners to ensure there is an integrated approach to the design and implementation of IT Asset Management, Configuration Management, Change Management, Release and Deployment Management and Knowledge Management
  • Collaborate with Configuration Management to ensure that service assets are managed throughout their asset lifecycle in a way that supports the objectives of IT Asset Management.
  • Participates in negotiating Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) as related to the IT Asset Management Process
  • Lead Asset Control & Compliance
  • Ensure quality reports are produced, distributed, and utilized
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with policy and standards
  • Periodically review the process and process strategy to ensure compliance with standards and policy
  • Manage preparation for and to response vendor audits and true ups
  • Monitor and prepare Blackbaud for vendor licensing requirement changes
  • Lead asset planning initiatives weighing changes in headcount, usage
  • Champion cost management and reduction through license reclamation, SW and HW consolidation and negotiations

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years delivering and managing IT Asset Management for Enterprise of at least 5000 endpoints
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in IT support/operation role
  • Experience in a variety of ITSM and ITAM tools, configuration, design, and development is desired
  • Proven ability to assess a company‚Äôs effective licensing position in order to manage risk and identify cost savings opportunities
  • Extensive knowledge of contract terms, licensing laws and best practices required
  • Strong process definition, management and control skills, using all resources efficiently and effectively
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at all levels
  • Thorough understanding of project delivery life cycles and project management practices
  • Direct experience managing large vendor licensing agreements such as Microsoft, VMware, Oracle
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement, shares lessons learned with colleagues and encourages others to do the same
  • Self-driven and ability to work independently. Excellent motivator with ability to achieve results with other teams
  • CSM, CITAM, CSAM, CHAMP or comparable asset certification preferred
  • Certification in ITIL Foundation V3 a plus
