About the role:

everydayhero is looking for leaders to build out key new verticals for our newly formed US team. This role will be responsible for managing the go-to-market teams and interfacing with key functional areas to ensure everydayhero’s success in the Corporate Cause Marketing specific key vertical. This Vertical Leader will be responsible for developing and overseeing the strategy to develop and win the Corporate Cause Marketing vertical, conducting sales, partnership and account management activities to build that business from the ground up and serving as the face of everydayhero to this particular key vertical.

What you’ll be doing:

The Vertical Lead role will be responsible for exceeding an assigned revenue goal for the Corporate Cause Marketing vertical. They are responsible for developing distinct vertical-specific strategies and selling everydayhero offerings. They will also work closely with the product and marketing functions, as well as other Blackbaud teams, and their respective leaders. The individual should be prepared to carry an individual quota, and as the business grows and resources are added under them, a team target. Major responsibilities include:

  • Developing a detailed data-driven strategy and execution plan for the Corporate Cause Marketing key vertical in the US market
  • Surpassing sales objectives and working with key team members in products, marketing and services to develop market strategies, positioning ideas and presentations
  • Providing accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly forecasts
  • As resources are added based on vertical business growth, recruiting and leading a sales team to achieve quarterly/annual revenue and growth targets by establishing sales goals and monitoring team members’ achievements
  • Maintaining positive customer relationships both before and after the sale to maximize client satisfaction
  • Identifying and securing key, differentiating partnerships in that vertical
  • Active speaking and participation in vertical-specific events, groups and publications

What we’ll want you to have:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant sales and management experience
  • Proven ability to successfully sell and achieve a targeted result
  • Having developed and executed strategies to build and grow a business from scratch
  • Experience selling innovative new approaches (e.g., peer to peer fundraising, virtual events, social media, digital) into leading organizations as well as training, technical & consulting services as an integral part of a complete solution
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of the Corporate Cause Marketing vertical is highly desired
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and facilitation skills are required as well as drive to support customer satisfaction at the highest levels
  • Must be able self-starter who can take the initiative to achieve results in a newly-developed role
  • Must have strong technical aptitude and ability to learn quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication as well as demonstrable platform skills
  • Demonstrated sales skills and negotiation ability with a proven successful track record
  • Strong work ethic – proven ability to “go above and beyond”
  • Positive attitude and the ability to stay flexible in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel as position may require up to 25% travel, linked to sales process participation noted above
