About the role
The Data Product Manager is responsible for product development of core features aligned to JustGiving's key business priorities with particular focus on our data engineering requirements.
This includes managing and delivering upon a number of internal and often co-dependent data requirements as well as both providing outcomes through product for both internal stakeholders and external customers.
Day-to-day activities include interfacing with internal partners, other product teams who have data requirements , leading the development team or squad through this work and presenting progress to internal leadership and peers.
Responsibilities of the role
- The Data Product Manager is responsible for overseeing data specific product requirements across the user experience on JustGiving as well as internal tooling and reporting.
- This position works with cross functional teams ( engineering, compliance, product design, research ) to manage products throughout the product life cycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and execution, and delivering impactful products and learner experiences that solve customer problems.
- Close collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g. Compliance, Finance, Account Management) to develop the product strategy and meet customer needs
- Responsibility and ownership of JustGiving's adherence to the Data Retention and Deletion policy and similar compliance related workstreams.
- Research emerging technologies, competitive market, and consumer trends to recommend new content and products where data plays a role.
- Lead development teams through all aspects of the product's life cycle, including development of product vision, execution of roadmap, and delivery to end-users
- Conduct market and user feedback analysis, and use quantitative data to make informed product requirements recommendations and decisions
- Manage backlog and updated content releases, considering business goals, user needs, and data analysis
- Support go-to-market strategies and launch plans in close collaboration with Product Marketing

What we need you to bring
- Proficient in SQL to troublesho o t , conduct discovery and test features .
- Understand and influence various types of data management processes , like data pipelines , data modelling and data processing.
- Strong understanding of ETLs, Data Warehouses and databases.
- Understand and support engineers with the full data product life cycle in an agile form.
- Developing data led expertise , applies company policies and procedures to ensure our product set is functional and compliant .
- You will support & inspire developers, testers, marketers, customer support specialists and analysts.
- You will engender a sense of urgency, creating a culture of ownership and accountability.
- You'll ensure that all stakeholders are included in discovery and informed to maintain a steady stream of communications
- You will demand timely delivery of first-class products, advocating excellence over mediocrity.
- You will communicate on feature progress and performance to a global audience across all stakeholders on a regular basis in conjunction with Product Marketing lead.
